Meshalkin, Novosibirsk, Siberia, and the Khristianovich Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Siberian Branch of RAS, are developing an original implantable artificial heart pump. The miniature heart device is designed by Russian scientists to provide the proper blood circulation in the heart and even to completely replace the heart function in the future.
A Russian R&D Team from Tomsk Polytechnical University is developing a portable ECG recording device utilizing non-contact sensors. Alexander Uvarov who is one of the developers of this innovative system says it will be possible to record ECG on the chest through clothing.

Russian project leader Alexander Kulish says it will give us a chance to understand and model “the natural software” of the heart functioning that includes a great number of heart performance parameters, relationships, regularities, regulation & feedback loops and control system in general.
